Thankful for Support from DowntownDC

Despite the challenges created by COVID-19 this Thanksgiving, the DowntownDC Foundation served over 200 hot lunches to individuals experiencing homelessness in DowntownDC on Nov. 26, 2020.

The traditional meal, from DowntownDC restaurant American Son, included herb roasted turkey, candied yams, sage cornbread stuffing, green beans, homemade cranberry sauce and a roll with butter. The DowntownDC Business Improvement District’s essential workers, staff and volunteers worked together with Pathways to Housing DC and the DC Department of Human Services to safely distribute this meal and hygiene kits. This holiday distribution was made possible with support from Boston Properties and Coca-Cola Consolidated.

The DowntownDC Foundation needs your help now, more than ever, to continue our work and rise to meet new challenges for this vulnerable population during COVID-19. Click here to learn how you can support our work this Dec. 1 for GivingTuesday.
