Homeless Walk

Grab your walking shoes. Fannie Mae’s annual Help the Homeless Walkathon gets underway on Saturday, November 19, beginning at 9:00 am on the National Mall.

Thousands of concerned citizens participate in this major fundraiser, starting between 9th and 12th Streets, come rain or shine. Make a difference in the lives of more than 12,000 individuals and families affected by homelessness, or at risk of being homeless, in the DC area. Show your support, and bring the family. The pre-registration fee through November 18 is $30 for adults and $20 for those who are 25 and younger.

No worries about making your way along the roughly 3.1-mile Walkathon route, which circles the Tidal Basin. Inspiration–in the way of the Ballou Senior High School Band and Cheerleaders, the Panthers Youth Organization Cheer Team, and others–will be on hand to cheer you on.

Since 1988, the Help the Homeless Program has raised $85 million for homeless service providers working to prevent and end homelessness. Register online, make a donation or just get more information.
