City Offers Free Home Energy Audits
OK, everyone, hurry. The District Department of Energy (DDOE) will continue to offer DC residents living in single-family, town and row homes free energy audits—no income guidelines required—through this summer. Come Friday, September 6, however, the agency’s Home Energy Rating System (HERS) program will officially end. Besides living in DC to qualify, you must live in a house that’s no bigger than 4,000 square feet. To sign up for the program, which promotes energy efficiency assessments, visit www.ddoe.dc.gov/energyaudit. Have questions? Contact LaKeisha Lockwood at lakeisha.lockwood@dc.gov.
