Public Meetings for Streetscape Design Guidelines
About The Event
The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) invites you to comment on the Draft Guidelines for Small-Scale Streetscape Elements, which inform the placement and characteristics of streetscape furnishings and infrastructure on and around the National Mall. Elements include benches, waste receptacles, bicycle racks, and utility boxes, among others. The guidelines were developed by federal and District agencies to help ensure the beauty and functionality of downtown Washingtonâs monumental core streetscapes.
NCPC is eager to hear your thoughts on these efforts to preserve and enhance the design character and appearance of some of the most symbolic streetscapes and open spaces in the nationâs capital. The public comment period is from April 17 to June 20.
