AAPI Anthologies: Folklore
About The Event
Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with an unforgettable night where folklore, legend, and cultural memory come alive on stage at AAPI Anthologies: Folklore.
AAPI Anthologies (AAPIA) invites audiences into a world of mythical creatures, cautionary tales, and ghost stories passed down through generations across the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora. Through performance art, AAPIA casts reimagine the folklore that shaped our childhoods — from the spirits and monsters of Korea and China to the wandering figures of South India, Thailand, and pre-colonial Filipino lore.
Blending storytelling, sensuality, humor, and haunting visuals, this immersive showcase celebrates the richness and diversity of AAPI cultures while exploring the ways heritage continues to influence identity, imagination, and artistic expression. Guests can also enjoy interactive games, cultural surprises, and a raffle featuring prizes inspired by traditions from across the diaspora.
