Take the Plunge for Special Olympics DC Feb. 19

Get your office together and support Special Olympics DC for the 2016 DC Polar Plunge, located this year in DowntownDC!

You can be one of 375 people who will be able to “take the plunge” at the DC Power Lunch Plunge Feb. 19 at lunch time on the lawn of the historic Carnegie Library in Mt. Vernon Square (801 K Street NW) in DowntownDC!

Join over 200 members of Washington DC’s corporate, law enforcement and public safety community as they plunge into a pool of water at this fundraising event for Special Olympics DC, one of 52 Special Olympics programs in the United States. The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is a proud event partner for the plunge.

To get involved and be a part of the DC Plunge, register at www.plungedc.org and get a group together and create a team. Ask your company today if they will sponsor you or match your fundraising efforts, ask your company to become a DC Polar Plunge Partner, or you can volunteer at one of the four different plunges in the DC area.

Individuals who wish to participate in the DC Power Lunch Plunge must raise a minimum of $1,000 and teams must raise a minimum of $2,500. Every Power Lunch Plunger will receive a unique and commemorative Polar Plunge keepsake after reaching their goal.

Need a little push? Create your own personal Plunge page where your friends, family and colleagues can support your commitment to Special Olympics DC with their donations (corporate donations also count!)

Special Olympics DC gives athletes the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. In their third year, the DC Polar Plunge has generated $200,000 annually and is a fun way to assist the nearly 1,600 intellectually disabled athletes of Special Olympics DC
