Downtown CFO of the Year Awards Winner
Congratulations to Henry Mosley of Events DC (801 Mount Vernon Place). He is the Downtown honoree chosen as a recipient of the Washington Business Journal’s 2013 CFO of the Year Awards, which recognize financial professionals in Greater Washington for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards. The award is given to the chief financial officers and their teams who delivered the most exceptional performance for their companies between January 2012 and June 2013. As the CFO of a $130 million, quasi-public authority that promotes conventions, sports and entertainment events, Mosley completed the all-important bond deal that helped to finance the Washington, DC Marriott Marquis convention center hotel, scheduled to open next spring. Prior to joining Events DC, he was an associate CFO for economic development and regulation for the DC government; the CFO of Howard University’s physicians group; and the comptroller of the DC Department of Housing and Community Development. The awards competition is divided into eight categories. Mosley won in the Hospitality group and was saluted along with the other honorees at a ceremony in Virginia last week.
