A Tasty Affair
Connoisseurs and novices alike are invited to “taste up” at the Washington, DC International Wine & Food Festival on Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, February 15 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
Billed as the largest indoor wine event in the Mid-Atlantic, this annual Festival will take place from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on both days, bringing together more than 150 international wineries from around the world, including Argentina, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand and the U.S. Tasters will have the chance to sample 800 wines and nibble on complimentary fare proffered by food vendors.
Festival goers will be able to access the Meet & Greet winemaker presentations and guided tastings and seminars; view live cooking demonstrations; learn how to properly pair foods with wines; and select, price and serve the right vintage. Tasters will be in for another treat: celebrity chefs such as Andreas Viestad, Martin Yan, Christina Pirello and Patrice Olivon are scheduled to make appearances.
Discount tickets for the event are available through February 7 and are $125 for the Grand Cru Wine Lounge, taking place on Saturday only, and $85 for the one-day Grand Tasting, happening on Saturday and Sunday. After February 7, prices climb to $150 and $95, respectively. The Grand Cru Wine Lounge is where tasters can sample the best of the best and savor creations from the area’s top chefs.
The Washington, DC International Wine & Food Festival, presented by The Washington Post, was ranked No. 2 for Food & Restaurant Industry Events in BizBash Washington’s Top 100 Events last year.
