On February 6, join Ford’s Theatre on the Written Then, Spoken Now: Remaking the Republic conversation. Joined by guest speakers, Christopher Booker, Chess Jakobs, and Quincy Mills, explore how free African Americans in the nineteenth-century gave powerful meaning to citizenship through advocacy and action. lended with their conversation, the program will also feature excerpts of the book, historical letters, newspapers read aloud by actors and book signing.
