Join the National Children’s Museum on Saturday, September 26, for Worldwide Day of Play, a global movement that believes play is essential to learning, creativity, and connection. In addition to playing your way through our STEAM exhibits, Museum Admission also grants you access to a line up of activities full of fun and discovery for the whole family!
Event Line Up
📘Book Launch: A Quilt of Starts | 10:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Join NASA astronaut Dr. Karen Nyberg for an interactive and inspiring celebration of her new book, A Quilt of Stars: Astronaut Karen Nyberg Stitches a Dream, featuring live readings, art activities, and book signings.
🏡 Live Performance: Danny Joe’s Treehouse | 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Danny Joe invites you into his whimsical treehouse for a live show filled with interactive storytelling, puppetry, song, and dance.
🖍️ Papel Picado | 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate Mexican culture by designing your own Papel Picado, traditional decorative paper banners, that can be displayed in the Museum as part of our Placita Mágica exhibit.
🧪 STEAM-Powered Pop-Ups | 2:30 p.m. – 4:00p.m.
Test your engineering skills with a Burger Flip Challenge, launching ingredients and seeing them stack.
