About The Event
An equestrian tradition since 1958, the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) is the country’s leading metropolitan indoor horse show offering championship sport and fast-paced entertainment and fun. Each October, more than 500 top national and international horses and riders, including Olympic veterans, gather in the nation’s capital to compete in thrilling equestrian sport. Since its debut, WIHS has been a Washington institution attended by presidents, first ladies, celebrities, military and business leaders, as well as countless horse enthusiasts of all ages.

- $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Washington presented by Events DC, for The President’s Cup
- The breathtaking Land Rover Puissance (high-jump)
- $50,000 Speed Final on Military Night featuring the JUMP FOR TAPS in support of Tragedy Assistance program for Survivors, the WIHS military charity
- The Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund WIHS Equitation Finals featuring the country’s top junior riders
- Kids’ Day, a free, fun, family-friendly event where kids can enjoy pony riders and learn about horses
- Barn Night, including prizes presented by BarnManager, The Equiery, Clothes Horse, the Loft at Meadowbrook, US Equestrian and United Metro Golf Carts
- Captivating exhibitions, including the WIHS Shetland Pony Steeplechase Championship Series, presented by Charles Owen, community activities, the WIHS Silent Auction, and fabulous shopping in more than 50 specialty boutiques
