Get ready for a first date that takes a seriously dark turn with Venus, a cosmic dark comedy coming to Woolly Mammoth Theatre this fall. This National New Play Network World Premiere follows Nicole, a woman who likes everything orderly, and Beth, an impulsive romantic who sweeps her into a midnight date under the stars.
What begins as an intoxicating collision of opposites quickly turns bizarre as romance gives way to obsession, fear, and a mysterious woman in a red raincoat. Written by Steve Yockey, creator of The Flight Attendant, and directed by Woolly Mammoth’s new Artistic Director Reggie D. White, Venus promises a strange, funny, and thrilling night at the theater.
Catch this celestial fever dream in Penn Quarter throughout September and early October, and experience one of the newest productions shaping Woolly Mammoth’s 2026–27 season.
