‘Transatlantic Connections: Celebrating the German-American Partnership’ Exhibit
About The Event
“The connection between German-speaking lands and the United States predates the founding of the respective countries. As of 2022, at least 40 million Americans self-report German ancestry. Immigrants helped build the United States, and immigrants and expats in both nations alike play important roles in promoting transatlantic understanding and an ongoing exchange of people, ideas, and innovations.”
— German-American Heritage Museum
The “Transatlantic Connections: Celebrating the German-American Partnership” exhibit, on loan from the Germanic American Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota, explores the connections Germany and the U.S. share today. From the challenges addressing the energiewende to German words and traditions that have influenced the United States, this exhibit informs and entertains.
The museum is open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
