About The Event

Step into The Bloom Room for Blossoms and Brushstrokes.

The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) along with Sandlot DC, and support by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, present The Bloom Room for the 2025 National Cherry Blossom Festival season!

The Bloom Room is a vibrant pop-up art space celebrating creativity and community. Open from March 21, 2025 – April 13, 2025 at the Gallery Space at Gallery Place, this unique gallery showcases an inspiring collection of works by local artists, all drawing inspiration from the fleeting beauty of the iconic cherry blossoms.

At the heart of The Bloom Room is an interactive reimagining of Bloom, the 2025 official artwork of the National Cherry Blossom Festival by Anna August. Visitors can marvel at “District of Blossoms” a unique art display featuring custom-painted sneakers created by young artists as part of the Blossom Kicks for Kids initiative, alongside an array of paintings, photography, and mixed-media pieces that embody renewal and transformation. Beyond admiring the artwork, guests can tap into their own creativity by registering for hands-on weekend workshops led by featured artists. Whether trying kite decorating, water coloring, or other artistic techniques, festival-goers of all ages can create their own cherry blossom-inspired masterpieces.
