About The Event

Nina Cooke John’s multidisciplinary practice re-centers and resurrects stories that are often erased in the telling of the story of a place and its people. The founding principal of Studio Cooke John Architecture and Design, Nina Cooke John discusses how her public art practice seeks to promote belonging in public space. She shares the recently completed ‘Shadow of A Face,’ the Harriet Tubman Monument in Newark, New Jersey and the installation piece, ‘Two Boxes of Oranges and Admonia Jackson,’ part of the Site See Installation series in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, among other projects.
