Solstice Celebration
About The Event
Join the Smithsonian to welcome the start of summer and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary at the Solstice Celebration. From Friday, June 19, through Saturday, June 20, museums across the city will stay open late, offering special performances, family-friendly activities, and after-hours experiences.
In Downtown DC, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery will remain open until 8 PM. Take advantage of the extended hours to explore world-class collections at a more leisurely pace and experience Downtown’s vibrant evening atmosphere.
All museums on the National Mall will be open until 11 PM. Please visit HERE for more information and the full list of participating museums.
