About The Event
David Armstrong directs a new production of Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon's Tony Award-winning 1991 musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1910 novel. When 10-year-old Mary Lennox loses her parents to a cholera epidemic in the British Raj of India, she is sent to live with her remote and morose uncle Archibald Craven, who is perpetually grieving the loss of his beloved wife. Suddenly alone in a mysterious Yorkshire mansion, Mary seeks refuge in her late aunt's secret walled garden, where she unearths mysteries of her own.
