Rumi Matsuyama / Proteus Velo Club Presents: Bike Ride from Riverdale Park MD to DC Holiday Market + Chalk-in for Allie
About The Event
1) This social pace (10-12 mph) 20 mile ride is approximately 4.5 hours including a stops at a memorial chalk-in and the downtown holiday market for lunch and shopping.There will be  a mix of streets with and without bike lanes as well as trails. 2) Bring: a metro farecard, panniers / backpack for purchases, fully charged cellphone, bikelock, money / credit card, flat kit/spare tube, mask for the chalk in and to duck inside stores if needed (eat outside). FREE event , food / drinks for purchase.

4) This ride is limited to 12 participants, including 1 ride leader and 1 sweep. Please contact Rumi to volunteer to lead or sweep!
Itinerary
10am: Riverdale Park Train Station: meet up for 10am ride briefing
10:15am (sharp) departure
10:45: Chalk-in for Allie. A memorial for 5 year old cyclist Allison Hart, who was killed by traffic violence at this intersection at 14th and Irving Street NE (Brookland). Chalk-in to FILL the intersection with Allison’s favorites: flowers and heart and send a message that our children need safe streets NOW.
11:30am departure
Noon: Downtown Holiday Market: Lunch and shopping F Street NW between 7th and 9th Streets NW outside the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum.
1:15pm departure
2:30pmish: return to the RP train station
