PREPOSTEROUS! A Happenstance Clown Circus
About The Event
Happenstance clowns take the center ring in vintage costumes and accompanied throughout by a one-person circus band. Juggling, a human calliope, a classic mirror routine, a slow-motion pie fight: clowns even play the animals! The show was featured at the Smithsonian’s Festival of American Folklife in Summer 2017, where it delighted audiences of all ages and was embraced by the circus community.
Saturday Morning at The National is a series of free programs that engage and inspire the young mind. We invite families to the theatre to play, laugh, learn, and discover through interactive performances, puppets, dance, and music. The programming is best suited for children 4 – 10 years, but siblings and friends of other ages are always welcome.
This summer we are excited to bring the performances to the main stage for one Saturday a month. We welcome families to join our artists on the stage for interactive and inspirational shows. The performances will start at 10am and run for 40 – 60 minutes. We do request that families reserve their spaces online as there are limited standby tickets.
