When Kathryn Hymes and Hakan Seyalıoğlu combined forces to create a game studio,
they realized their combined backgrounds (she’s a linguist, he’s a
cryptographer) allowed them to explore both the power and the playfulness of
language. Games, specifically language games, allow us to explore our own
world, and create new ones, through the ways we communicate.

Kathryn
Hymes and Hakan Seyalıoğlu are the masterminds behind Thorny Games, and
award-winning independent game studio in Washington DC.
