Park(ing) Day 2023
About The Event
On, Friday, September 15, take a step away from the daily grind and join the DowntownDC BID as we celebrate PARK(ing) Day — an annual global, public, participatory project in which people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.
Pump your brakes for a while and let your imagination flourish, as we will transform the westbound lane of 5th and I NW, next to Chinatown Park, into a vibrant mini-park for community connection, creativity, and enlightenment. Visitors will be able to enjoy a coffee social sponsored by La Colombe at the cafe lounge, learn the ancient game Mahjong at lunch, challenge colleagues at cornhole, and win prizes at the board game tournament.
Don’t miss your chance to participate in a day of community, creativity, and urban reimagining.
