About The Event

Unleash your inner bookworm!

The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is partnering with DC Public Library to create an outdoor library lounge for PARK(ing) Day 2018. Visit the BID’s parking spaces in the 700-block of 7th Street in Chinatown from 10am-3pm on Sept. 21 where you’ll be able to enjoy free treats, check out and return library books, sign up for a library card and learn about the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library modernization and more.

Chinatown Coffee and drink treats from Shake Shack will be provided.

Since its inception in San Francisco 13 years ago, PARK(ing) Day has grown into a national event inviting residents and businesses to envision alternative uses of urban, public space by transforming metered on-street parking spaces into temporary themed parks.

Click here to visit the District Department of Transportation’s webpage for more information on D.C.’s PARK(ing) Day activations.

Are you in DowntownDC and planning to participate in PARK(ing) Day? We’d love to hear from you and help promote your event. Contact Remi Wallace at remi@downtowndc.org.
