NMWA Nights: New World Bash

Join the National Museum of Women in the Arts for a New Worlds Bash! Taking inspiration from their special exhibition New Worlds: Women to Watch 2024, come dressed in your interpretation of “New Worlds.” Create an outfit inspired by one of the exhibition’s themes for a chance to win some NMWA prizes:

• Sustainable: Take inspiration from nature and natural materials. Upcycle, reuse, or repair what you already own.
• Futuristic: Draw inspiration from where you want to be in the future. What does your new world look like?
• Inclusive: What makes you you? What can the past tell us about future collaborative and welcoming new worlds?
• Creative: If you could wear anything, what would it be? Think outside the box, and take inspiration from colors, shapes, and texture.

Sip cocktails from Please Bring Chips, dance to hits by Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander musicians spun by LES THE DJ, snap a picture in a photobooth, and get hands-on with an art-making activity in the Studio. Make sure to experience an electric performance by Pretty Boi Drag, an award-winning, DC-based drag king performance troupe whose mission is to uplift and center BIPOC drag kings.
