Join the Museum of Illusions for a unique hands-on Origami Workshop, in partnership with the renowned origami artist Michiko Okuma. On Thursday, July 23, at 6:00 p.m., join the museum and experience the timeless Japanese art of paper folding to the heart of Downtown DC.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, these interactive workshops will introduce participants to the beauty, creativity, and mindfulness of origami. Under Michiko’s expert guidance, guests will learn traditional folding techniques and create their own intricate paper masterpieces to take home.
The Workshop includes:
- Step-by-step instruction from acclaimed origami artist Michiko Okuma
- Learn the history and cultural significance of origami
- Create a variety of designs, from classic cranes to seasonal and contemporary creations
