About The Event

Critically acclaimed and nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Taxi Driver is an American classic. It portrays a mentally unstable veteran working as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action. Join Dan Perri, the film’s title designer and artistic consultant, for a post-film discussion on the unique art form of title design and how he used design to communicate the larger messages of the movie. Directed by Martin Scorsese; rated R (114 minutes; 1976).

This film is part of Movies at SAAM’s summer series, where the best design elements in American cinema are examined.
