Please join Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Mayorâs Office on Womenâs Policy and Initiatives (MOWPI), and the DC Commission for Women to celebrate the 7th Annual Womenâs Equality Day Celebration.
This event celebrates the day women were granted the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution was certified as law, and this year we commemorate the 101st anniversary of this monumental ruling. Attendees are asked to wear something yellow or white to show your support of Womenâs Equality!
This year, MOWPI âs theme, Women of the Movement, will highlight the women artists who have contributed to the Womenâs Suffrage Movement and women artists who have lent their talents historically through activism. The celebration will showcase the importance of art and expression in womenâs advocacy and civic participation.
