Live Jazz at CityCenterDC
About The Event
Join us for a live performance in The Plaza at CityCenter on Thursday, May 17 from 5pm to 7pm, by the New Washingtonians Jazz Ensemble from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Grab a seat in the plaza or on the patio of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, DBGB Kitchen and Bar, or Fig & Olive and enjoy an evening of Jazz al fresco.
The Duke Ellington School of the Arts was established in 1974 and remains the sole D.C. public high school to offer a dual curriculum encompassing professional arts training and academic enrichment, in preparation for college and careers in the arts. The Duke Ellington School of the Arts New Washingtonians Jazz Ensemble was established in 1989 by Ellington’s Jazz Studies director Davey Yarborough. Every two years the ensemble has an international tour, with past performances in France, Croatia, Barbados, Bahamas, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
