Villarreal, author of Magical/Realism: Essays on Music, Memory, Fantasy, and Borders, and Paredez, author of American Diva: Extraordinary, Unruly, Fabulous, will come together to explore the powerful intersections in their work. Villarrealâs essays reimagine histories shaped by migration through the lens of music, fantasy, and pop culture, while Paredez celebrates the transformative role of divas in shaping American culture, offering a fresh perspective on the influence of performance on personal and collective narratives.
