The National Building Museum creates a new one-of-a-kind destination this summer when it unveils ICEBERGS, designed by James Corner Field Operations. Representing an underwater world of glacial ice fields spanning the Museumâs enormous Great Hall, the immersive installation emphasizes themes of landscape representation, geometry, and construction. It includes a viewing platform from the tip of the tallest berg, bridges and slides to traverse, grottoes and tunnels to explore, and a Japanese kakigori shaved-ice stand operated by local restaurant Daikaya. ICEBERGS is open to the public July 2âSeptember 5, 2016. The Museum is also presenting ICEBERGS Late Nights every Wednesday during the run, 6-10 pm (separate ticket required). Late Nights are “all ages” and feature after-hours opportunities to explore the installation and other current exhibitions, participate in optional educational programming, and enjoy food and beverages for sale from featured guest restaurants. Confirmed special guests include restaurants Toki Underground, The BBQ Joint, DGS, Port City Brewing Company, Union Kitchen, and 9th Street Hospitality.
