Free Community Day and Pottery Market Pop Up
About The Event
Join the Free Community Day and Pottery Market Pop-Up at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Wednesday, August 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Explore a vibrant showcase of local women and nonbinary potters while enjoying free museum admission, gallery tours, and hands-on art-making activities.
Inspired by the museum’s current exhibition, Burnished: Pueblo Pottery at NMWA, the summer pop-up features twelve independent makers from across the DMV, each bringing their own artistic perspective to the centuries-old traditions of pottery. Meet Indigenous, Latina, and D.C.-based artists, shop one-of-a-kind ceramics, and discover local studios offering pottery workshops and classes for all ages and experience levels. This market will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the museum’s Great Hall.
In June, July, and August, the museum is open until 8 pm on the second Wednesday of the month! Take this opportunity to explore our collection and current exhibitions with free admission.
