About The Event

The most sensational way to experience a country’s culture is through its cuisine. On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, join more than 20 embassies representing regions such as South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean for the 9th Annual Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge presented by the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

Washington, DC is home to more than 170 embassies from around the world and the Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge is the only event in the DMV where you can sample authentic drinks and dishes prepared by chefs of the United States’ international ambassadors. These chefs are bringing their best dishes as they compete for the People’s Choice and Judges Choice awards.

At the sold out, 2016 Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge, the evening commenced with a tasting of British Virgin Islands’ rum-infused “Painkiller” cocktail along with sips of Guatemalan Gazpacho del Enchilada and hors d’oeuvres as diverse as the Czech Republic’s bacon wrapped duck pate, and Ghanaian black-eyed pea and shrimp fritters.

By purchasing a ticket, you are committing to experience the ultimate culinary journey around the world through a cultural infusion of cuisine, music and live entertainment. Be sure to try everything because you will vote for the best dish, as well as the tastiest food and drink pairing, to determine the People’s Choice award winner.
