About The Event

Emancipation Day commemorates that historic day when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Compensated Emancipation Act, freeing 3,185 enslaved persons in Washington, DC. The parade will showcase local bands and champions of DC Values.

Come walk with Mayor Bowser and celebrate DC values at our own Emancipation Day Parade.
