About The Event

Which people or issues merit a monument in the capital? Students in the CityVision program from Stuart-Hobson Middle School visited monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C., such as the Japanese American Memorial to Patriotism During World War II and the United States Navy Memorial, to study what their role is in the fabric of the city. Working in studio teams, they brainstormed issues, people, and events that are important to them that are not currently represented in memorials in the city. Join us to celebrate their semester of work and talk with these young designers about their plans for new commemorative spaces in Washington, D.C.
