About The Event
The 15th annual DC State Fair is a FREE showcase of the Districtâs agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown. The Fair will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and will take place rain or shine at Downtown DC’s largest green space, Franklin Park. Inspired by time-honored state fair traditionsâgrowing and gardening, contests, and delicious foodsâthe DC State Fair honors the things that make the District of Columbia unique. This means the DC State Fair holds competitions to find the tastiest mumbo sauce, most beautiful paintings and drawings inspired by the District, funkiest looking vegetable, best garden haul and more! Explore the 50+ contests taking place this year! Contest registration closes on Friday, August 16, 9 pm. Most contest judging takes place prior to the fair and winners are announced and awarded their ribbons at the fair.
