About The Event

Join Eaton House member DC Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (@dciwoc) Sunday, August 29th, from 6-8 PM for an opening reception of their Black August Prison Abolition Art Exhibit.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Attica Prison Uprising, where in 1971 in New York, prisoners organized an uprising inside Attica prison.

This Black August, we remember the Attica Prison Uprising by honoring and showing solidarity with all Black prisoners in our community today. We invite you to hear their voices through their art, uplift their demands, and put in the work to dismantle toxic prisons and systems of policing which continuously harm Black communities.”
