About The Event

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the declaration of Emancipation Day as a District holiday.

The 20th Anniversary Emancipation Day Parade will begin at the cross section of Pennsylvania and 10th Streets NW, and travel to the cross section of Pennsylvania and 14th Streets NW. The 20th Anniversary Emancipation Day Concert will be held at Freedom Plaza and will conclude with a fireworks display.

Cost: FREE.
Location: Freedom Plaza, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004.
Metro: Metro Center (Red/Blue/Orange/Silver lines) via the 13th and G Street exit, Federal Triangle (Blue/Orange/Silver lines), and Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Station (Green/Yellow lines).
