About The Event
Journalist, author, and producer Vikki Tobak and music historian, DJ, and producer Adrian Loving lead a conversation with photographers from Tobak’s celebrated book Contact High: A Visual History of Hip-Hop (2018). Contact High examines the fascinating world of hip-hop through the lens of the photographers who shaped the iconic album covers, T-shirts and posters beloved by fans around the world. Featuring rare outtakes alongside interviews and essays from industry legends, readers embark on a chronological journey from old-school to alternative hip-hop and from analog to digital photography. $20 general; $15 members, seniors, students.
