About The Event
In 2017, President Trump declared the opioid crisis affecting almost every corner of the United States a national public health emergency with more than 300,000 American killed from opioid-related overdoses. Communities have been deeply affected by the influx of opioid addictions from the youngest to oldest residents.
Join the National Law Enforcement Museum and News 4 Today anchor Aaron Gilchrist to learn how three experts are dealing with the opioid crisis in their communities. Chief Tom Synan, Newtown (OH) Police Department; Lieutenant Patrick Glynn, Quincy (MA) Police Department; and José Rodriguez, Director of Opioid Overdose Prevention for the Baltimore City Health Department will each speak about the different paths their communities have taken to aid families affected by opioid addiction and prevent further damage from these drugs.
