Join the National Portrait Gallery and Chalk Riot for Chalk the Block, a colorful celebration of the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, taking place on Thursday, June 18.
From 3PM to 6PM, bring your family, friends, and fellow art lovers to F Street for an afternoon of colors and summer fun. Enjoy interactive chalk games, create your own chalk portraits, and soak in the lively atmosphere as DJ Harry Hotter sets the soundtrack for the celebration, and cool off with sweet ice cream, brought to you by the DowntownDC Business Improvements District (BID).
All ages are welcome – Bring your imagination, grab some chalks, and dive into the celebration with colors. Stay after for more chalk fun indoors during the SAAM’s Take 5: Jazz at SAAM concert series in the Kogod Courtyard from 5PM to 8PM.
