About The Event
You can’t have a DC summer without wings, mambo sauce, and a little friendly competition. Join Carryout Classic Wing Eating Contest on Saturday, June 27 from 11AM – 1PM for a weekend packed with bold flavors and summer fun.
Hosted by Capital City Mambo Sauce, the Carryout Classic is bringing high energy, big flavor, music, giveaways, and a live wing eating competition to the 34th Annual Giant BBQ Battle this year. Expect a fast paced showdown as contestants battle it out on stage for prizes, bragging rights, and the title of Carryout Classic champion.
Pull up, try some food, make some noise, and experience a true taste of DC culture in the middle of one of the city’s biggest summer festivals.
Event Schedule
- 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM | Onsite Signup at Giant BBQ Battle
- 11:30 AM – 12:00PM | Giveaways & Music at the Kingsford Great American Grilling Stage
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM | Competitor Selection Announcement —Those interested in competing MUST BE present for the selection process.
- 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM | Carryout Classic Wing Eating Competition

- Ticket: Entry to the Carryout Classic Wing Eating Competition is FREE with the purchase of a Giant BBQ Battle ticket
- Registration: The event is first come, first serve; so arrive early and claim your spot at the onsite sign-up
- Location: Kingsford Great American Grilling Stage, Pennsylvania Ave NW & 4th St NW, Washington, DC 20004
- Metro: Archives Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Station (Green/Yellow lines) via 7th & Pennsylvania Avenue NW Exit
