5th-Annual HerStory 5K
About The Event
Residents of all ages are encouraged to run or walk the fifth-annual HerStory 5K to honor the history-making women of the District.
This event routinely draws more than 2,500 participants from all eight wards, with the 2022 race welcoming more than 3,000. The 5K is part of FITDC, a citywide fitness initiative designed to provide residents with a year-long calendar of cause-driven fitness events that evoke city pride and allow residents of all fitness levels to unite in the spirit of living healthier, more active lifestyles.
The HerStory 5K is one such event, and this year, women, men, children, and dogs can enjoy a lineup of speakers headlined by Mayor Muriel Bowser, a scenic route down Pennsylvania Avenue, and a finish festival with vendors, a live DJ, and a 360 photo booth.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., and the 5K begins at 10:00 a.m. at Freedom Plaza.
