Step into the World of Animationland at the National Children’s Museum!
Now through May 11, 2025, discover the art of storytelling through hands-on activities in storyboarding, sound effects, and stop-motion animation. Join Tracey the pencil dog and her crew on an immersive journey where science and imagination come together to bring stories to life.
Explore Turtleback Island to sketch characters and learn storyboarding, spin a Mutoscope in Prickle Desert to experiment with frame rates, and create stop-motion animations at Comfort Peaks. In Blub-Glub Village, collaborate on full-body stop-motion using a gridded floor plan, or step into the Forgotten Forest to craft sound effects like a artist. Before you leave, Strike a Pose with the exhibitâs quirky characters for a fun photo memory.
Perfect for kids ages 6 to 12 and their families, Animationland is an exciting space to channel creativity and develop an animated masterpiece.
