Safety/Hospitality & Maintenance Supervisor
The Safety/Hospitality & Maintenance (SAM) Supervisor will assign, equip, motivate, monitor, and report on the daily work of 10-20 employees on any given shift. The supervisor will ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, customer service, technology usage, uniform, professional image, attendance, punctuality, and productivity of team members and all rules and regulations in the employee handbook. The supervisor will receive, prioritize, and execute work requests and provide timely and consistent reporting of all personnel activities in accordance with established procedures. This position has a broad scope and represents DowntownDC BID to employees, the general public, property managers, and tenants.
Safety & Maintenance Driver
The Safety & Maintenance Driver plays a key role in supporting DowntownDCâs day-to-day field operations. This position is responsible for operating BID vehicles safely and efficiently, performing routine vehicle and safety checks, and ensuring timely documentation and reporting of incidents, damages, and issues in the public space. As both a Safety & Maintenance Ambassador and Driver, this role provides public safety observation, cleaning and maintenance support, and engagement with the unhoused community and the general public. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout the Downtown DC area.
Planning & Economic Development
The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is seeking a talented and energetic individual to join the team and facilitate the next chapter of downtownâs evolution in the post-pandemic era. The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban design, policy, and real estate, with a strong skillset in project management, data analysis, and written and verbal communication. The role includes supporting implementation of the Downtown Action Plan, tracking real estate trends and projects, and helping to facilitate stakeholder communication and engagement across a wide array of initiatives.
Director of Homeless Services
The Director of Homeless Services leads the DowntownDC Business Improvement Districtâs (BID)âs strategic efforts to support individuals experiencing homelessness in Downtown D.C. and serves as a leader for public and private stakeholders and partners related to human services. This full-time position oversees the operations and staff of the Downtown Day Services Center (DDSC) and coordinates a comprehensive array of services in collaboration with key partners and contractors including street outreach services.
Safety and Maintenance Ambassador
The DowntownDC BID is looking for Full-Time or Part-Time Safety & Maintenance Ambassadors (SAMs). The Safety & Maintenance Ambassadors are expected to greet and welcome visitors to Downtown DC areas, and parks and provide guests with services and relevant information when appropriate. They will also serve as âeyes and earsâ and help ensure a safer, hospitable, more orderly environment. and a welcoming environment in Downtown DC.
