Word on the street is that the 1200 G Street office building across from Macy’s (1201 G Street) is making way for a restaurant that will occupy prime ground floor retail space now divided into five separate stores with their own addresses. Already gone are Summit Computers (1208 G Street), now located at 727 15th Street, and Sir Speedy (1212 G Street), which moved to Chantilly, Virginia. The AT&T Store (1210 G Street) closed.

VIP Custom Taylor (1206 G Street), which might move to 800 K Street, and Luggage & Shoe Repair (1204 G Street), are both still open for now. Only Robert Laurence Jewelers (1202 G Street), a 40-year-old tenant, will remain in the building.

Change is also coming to 1 Thomas Circle, where the popular Oriental Oasis Day Spa was perched for many years, offering an array of beauty services. The spa will reopen just a few blocks away at 1090 Vermont Avenue. West Wing Café is set to occupy the Oriental Oasis space as early as next month.
