LOTUS Sculpture
About The Event
A symbol of peace, resilience, and transformation, the LOTUS sculpture makes its debut in October 2026, welcoming visitors to Chinatown Park.
Inspired by the natural cycle of the lotus flower, artist My Ly of My Ly Design created the sculpture with 10 hand-formed steel petals arranged across three rising tiers. Set over a concrete base, the petals reflect the water from which lotus flowers grow. Together, the petals tell a story of rising from darkness into beauty, finding light, and beginning anew. Through its dynamic form, the sculpture also captures the vibrant energy of the park and the spirit of the community in Downtown DC.
Measuring 6 feet by 6 feet, LOTUS serves as a gateway to Chinatown Park at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue NW and 5th Street NW. Stop by, take a closer look, and experience this new piece of public art.
