El Día de los Muertos Festival
About The Event
Join us in the National Portrait Gallery’s Kogod Courtyard for the annual celebration of El Día de los Muertos, one of the museum’s biggest events of the year.
Celebrate with live music, Mexican folk-dance performances, a community altar and workshops, including calaveras and papel picado. Take the celebration to the streets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to witness a live video mapping projection by artists MasPaz and Guache. The artists will create their work live from the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and project it onto the museum’s G and 9th street façade.
This event received federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the National Museum of the American Latino.
