About The Event
Step back in time and come face-to-face with dinosaurs at Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice, arriving at the National Children’s Museum.
From September 26, 2026, through January 10, 2027, young explorers can journey back to the Cretaceous period and discover what life was like alongside some of the largest creatures to ever roam the Earth. Get hands-on with activities that spark scientific thinking and imagination, then climb, play, and explore among larger-than-life dinosaurs and immersive environments.
Designed for whole-body learning, the exhibit invites children to move, imagine, and discover as they build curiosity through hands-on play.
Exhibit Experiences
- 🦖 Climbable Dinosaurs | Climb, play, and pose with your favorite dinosaurs, and learn some fun facts about each along the way!
- 🌋 Immersive Habitats | Crawl under a volcano, explore an icy tunnel, bounce through a bog, and learn about prehistoric habitats.
- 🧩 Food Chain Puzzle | Learn the difference between carnivore, omnivore, and herbivore diets with interactive food chain puzzles.
- The Big Dig | Gear up with goggles, grab a brush, and see how many fossils you can find.
- 🦕 Animal Costumes | Be one with the environment, dressing up as various creatures native to the prehistoric ecosystem.

The exhibit is recommended for learners age 3-10 and their families.
