Anthem Row Public Art Installations
Reimagined. Reclaimed. Reborn as Downtown DC’s Creative Hub.
Once an underutilized alleyway, Anthem Row has been transformed into one of Downtown DC’s most dynamic arts, culture, and entertainment destinations. Since 2024, the DowntownDC BID has reimagined this K Street NW corridor as a vibrant public gathering space, featuring rotating art installations by local DC artists, interactive experiences, and community events throughout the year.
Welcoming thousands of visitors annually and home to a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title, Anthem Row showcases the transformative power of public arts. Whether you’re exploring Downtown DC for the first time or rediscovering it through a new lens, Anthem Row invites you to experience creativity in the heart of the city.
Aerial Sculpture Series
Anthem Row debuted with a first-of-its-kind Aerial Sculpture Series by artist My Ly from My Ly Design. Suspended 30 feet above the alleyway, the 10-foot-wide sphere sculptures transform the corridor into vibrant and seasonal art experiences.
Featured sculptures: National Mistletoe, Lunar New Year Lantern, Cherry Blossom Daruma, and The Prism.
Chris Pyrate Collaborations
Anthem Row came into full bloom through a collaboration with DC artist Chris Pyrate. Featuring a cherry blossom-inspired alleyway takeover and a MINI Cooper painted live during the GoGo & Sakura event, the project brought a fresh burst of color and springtime energy to Downtown DC.
Pianos in the City by Shadd
Turning the streets into a stage for creativity and connection, Pianos in the City by Shadd invites visitors to experience the joy of music in public spaces. Located at the I Street entrance to Anthem Row, two colorful pianos welcome passersby to play, perform, and experience art firsthand.
