Share the bounty of the season at the first annual Penn Quarter FRESHFarm Market’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, taking place from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, on 8th Street between D and E Streets.

Bring pantry items or supermarket gift cards. Purchase fresh foods at the Market, or make a monetary donation, which will be used to purchase Market foods. Contributions should be dropped off  at the Market information tent.

All food and donations will benefit Thrive DC, formerly the Dinner Program for Homeless Women. In 2009, the organization moved from the DowntownDC BID to St. Stephen’s of the Incarnate Episcopal Church in Columbia Heights. Besides serving meals, Thrive DC also offers educational enrichment activities, case management, employment readiness training, crisis services and transportation and rental assistance for homeless men and women.

The Penn Quarter FRESHFarm Market will run through December 22 this year. For more information, including a full roster of farmers and producers, visit www.freshfarmmarket.org.
