Okay, streetcar buffs, here’s something to pique your interest while the city awaits the launch of the DC Streetcar: a redesigned DC Streetcar website. Visit www.DCStreetcar.com. Sure, the new design is cool, but the goal is to help the public become better informed and engaged. So, what to expect? The latest information on construction impacts and current and future lines—all told, eight lines are planned across DC’s eight wards—a “robust” search tool; an interactive event calendar; images and video; current news items about DC Streetcar; and “project libraries” where one can tab information from public meetings and study reports. Service-related information and resources will be available once the passenger service date nears in late 2013, beginning with the 2.4-mile H Street and Benning Road line.
